Jessica Parratto - Road to Tokyo

Diving is in Jessica Parratto’s blood. Her mother was a five-time All-American diver at Wellesley College and her father is a swim coach who coached Olympic gold medalist swimmer Jenny Thompson. By the time Jessica was 5 years old, she had already done her first flip off of a diving board.

By the age of 13 in 2007, Jess’s talents were recognized by an Olympic coach, who invited her to a national diving training camp in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she trained with some of the best divers in the country. Having outgrown all of the diving facilities in her small town in New Hampshire, at 14, she relocated full-time to Indianapolis. She began living with a host family, switching to homeschooling and starting her new training regimen, which involved training nearly 7 hours a day. Her passion and pedigree were paying off, and her entire family relocated to Indiana to support her dreams shortly thereafter.

She earned a spot on the USA Diving National Team in 2010 at age 16 and competed in her first World Championships at the age of 17. Soon after that, Jessica became a Junior National Champion and a Senior National Champion. She also qualified for the Olympic Trials, fulfilling one of her biggest goals at the time. After making it to the finals at the Olympic Trials in 2012, she was highly motivated to invest all of her energy into qualifying for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Jessica placed 10th in the individual 10 meter platform event with a score of 334.60 points. In the synchronized 10 meter platform dive event, Parratto and her partner, Amy Cozad, took 7th place with a score of 301.02 points. Proud but not satisfied with these accomplishments, Jessica set her sights on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Of course, the COVID-19 global pandemic forced the postponement of the Olympics until 2021, giving athletes another year to prepare for competition on the world stage. To stay in tip top shape, Jessica has developed an effective training regimen that include pilates, diving, proper nutrition, weight lifting, video analysis, plenty of sleep and proper recovery.

Just Live is proud to be a part of Jessica’s wellness and recovery program, which includes epsom salt baths, Normatec, chamomile tea + collagen + Just Live’s CBD Drops. Join us in rooting for Jessica this summer as she competes in the 10m diving platform on July 27 in Tokyo!
