Introducing Dr. Alex Capano, Just Live’s New Chief Science Advisor

We are pleased to announce Dr. Alex Capano as Just Live’s new Chief Science Advisor. Dr. Capano is the first person to earn a doctorate degree in cannabis science, pioneering the way for further cannabinoid studies at Thomas Jefferson University’s Lambert Center for the Study of Medicinal Cannabis & Hemp.

In 2019, Alex published a study on the CBD’s effects on opioid reduction and chronic pain. She is currently researching the wide-ranging medical benefits of cannabis, which has been used to treat conditions ranging from epilepsy to endometriosis to opioid addiction, with very promising results.

Alex is also a board-certified family nurse practitioner with additional degrees that include a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) & MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in neuroscience from the University of Miami.

 

Dr. Capano is among the many respected women making progress in cannabis and she’s a regular lecturer at scientific conferences. Her expertise has been featured in respected publications & outlets like Marie Claire, Coveteur, NBC’s Know Your Value, Pharmacy Times, Bon Appetit, Gossamer, Medium.com, Postgraduate Medicine, and more.

In her role as Chief Science Advisor to Just Live, she will act as a liaison between the medical cannabis community and Just Live; she’ll work closely with our professional athletes to come up with appropriate & effective product formulations; she will provide consulting for educational content and make evidence-based recommendations on clinical research, product development, messaging and materials.
